Quality country for a quality life

When it comes to quality of life in a certain country, many factors are taken into consideration. From standard of living to sanitation, freedom of speech and protection of human rights, and when all these areas are evaluated, Slovenia is considered a country with one of the best quality of life standards in the whole world. In fact, according to the American Social Progress, it ranked 21st among 128 countries in 2017.

In general, it ranks above average in housing, health status, social connections, education, work-life balance, environmental quality and personal security.

A positive quality factor is also Slovenia’s infrastructure, the country features good roads with highway connections to neighbouring countries, a naval port and an airport with connections to all major European cities.

Slovenians also enjoy public health care, provided through the public health service network. Primary health care services are equally accessible to all people without discrimination and insured persons are also entitled to different financial benefits, such as compensation of salary during temporary absence from work due to illness or care.

Slovenia also prides itself on its quality educational system. The basic education is mandatory and free for all Slovenians (plus all under-age foreign citizens residing in Slovenia), funded mostly from the state budget, while a small share of the finance is also contributed by local authorities.

In terms of real estate, Slovenia has many opportunities for new real estate developments. Residential real estate demand is increasing, both for personal use and investment purposes.

As far as overall safety is concearned, Slovenia is considered a low-threat country for crime and for political, religious, economic and ethnic violence. So it is definitely safe to say, that Slovenia is on every one’s travel or living bucket list!
